About Us
Symphony Music Institute was established in the Emirate of Ajman in the year 1997 under the humble patronage of H. H. Sheikh Sultan Bin Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the ruling family of Ajman. In 25 years, we have trained 10,000+ students of different ages from 25+ countries in the world.
Symphony Music Institute has grown from very humble beginnings to preparing 2000+ students to qualify for International Exams like Trinity School of London. Helping our students from preparing them for International Music exams to giving them opportunities in 100+ competitions and shows, Symphony has built its reputation globally in teaching music & arts.
Mr. Sham S. Rao
Founder
A professional classical dancer, an artist and a yoga therapist in his former years. Renowned for his Bharatnatyam performances in UAE in the early1980s to late 1990s in South India and throughout the UAE. He along with his Wife Smt. Sujatha Rao, founded Symphony Music Institute in the year 1997.
He has learnt Bharatnatyam from:
- Natyanikethan under the guidance of Shri. Ullal MohanKumar for Bharatnatyam.
- Former Head of Kerala Kalamandalam Shri. Salem Rajarathnam Pillai for Bharatnatyam.
He has studied Drawing under Former HOD of arts in Karnataka University Shri. Peter D’souza. He also studied Drawing, Painting and Yoga from the Former Education Officer of State Late Shri S.S.Rao.
Mrs. Sujatha Rao
Founder
A professional Dancer and Carnatic classical vocalist hailing from Mangalore, India. Renowned soloist and duet classical dance performer along with her husband in the 1980s and 1990s throughout south India and UAE. She has trained under and is a disciple of:
– Natyanikethan under the guidance of Shri. Ullal Mohan Kumar for Bharatnatyam.
– Former Head of Kerala Kalamandalam Shri. Salem Rajarathnam Pillai for Bharatnatyam.
– Smt. Shobha (Thrissur, Kerala) for Mohinyattam
– Former Head of Kathakali at Kerala Kalamandalam Shri. Rajashekhar for Kathakali.
– Shri. Suresh Rao Kotekar (Mangalore, Karnataka) for Yakshagaana.
– Founder of Chaya Nrithyalaya (Bangalore, Karnataka) Smt. Sunanda Devi for Kuchipudi.
– Smt. Sarojamma (Mangalore, Karnataka) for Carnatic classical vocal
– Mangalore Radio Artist Shri. Shrinath Marate for vocals & Carnatic music.
